Got questions about what you can do to help fight climate change? On Wednesday, White House Senior Advisor Brian Deese will hold a Tumblr Q&A to answer your questions about what you can do at home, on your campus, or in your community to act on climate.

Ask your questions in the White House Ask Box by Wednesday at 2:15pm ET

Until the administration and the politicians focus on reducing livestock and dairy production’s environmental impact do we really need to be hearing about token activities that “we can do” like taking short showers and insulating our houses?  What we can do is boycott meat and dairy and vote out congresspeople who vote for taxpayer subsidies to the meat and dairy industry.  That’s what we the public can do, because unless animal agriculture ends we are a dead rock in space.

  7. themountainpact-blog answered: Mountain towns stand to benefit from the proposed ONRR coal rule, but also your Act on Climate goals. Will you finalize the rule?
  8. johnnullsf-blog answered: We need to stop using fireplaces be that wood or coal. Replace power stations burning charcoal with solar, wind, hydroelectric stations. Build EV’s with solar made roof and trunk.
  9. swimmingcolorchaos-blog answered: What can each state do that has condominium complexes to make the HOA’S install solar panels on the roofs, we have many in California, and it is such a waste.
  10. bat-dannym-things-blog answered: we should start a National renewable Energy Development program similar to Kennedy’s Space program. Gathering the best people from industry and academia. Maybe a partnership btwn the US gov. and private industry.
  11. drs44-blog answered: Many homes’ roofs are good locations for solar with payback periods on the same scale as a good quality new roof. How can one help start legislation that would require new homes/bldgs to install solar panels if the payback period is within this range
  12. friendsoftheearth-blog answered: What are you doing to keep fossil fuels in the ground?
  13. kwu68ca94579-blog answered: What is the current status of ARPA-e (funding, your opinion of how well it’s working), and are we expecting more programs like this to come? What about JCESR? Are we seeing results from that?
  14. kafe0 answered: Quit eating meat. At least beef. The popular red meat requires 28 times more land to produce than pork or chicken, 11 times more water and results in five times more climate-warming emissions. Plus, animal agriculture creates more pollution than cars
  15. presentasagift-blog answered: Having just been released from jail following a blockade of FERC, the agency that rubber-stamps pipelines and other fossil fuel infrastructure that exacerabates climate change, I ask…What does the White House plan to do?!
  16. spiritofmatilda-blog answered: What is stopping the United States from making the bold changes that could prevent suffering in an inhospitable world? I understand market pressures, but we cannot eat money and we cannot drink stock certificates. How can we change our trajectory?
  17. apetero-blog answered: One of the biggest issues concerning climate change affecting the coast is “defend or retreat”, what is the Government plan to assist communities with this planning process?
  18. ealanmeece answered: If the president wants to end climate change, why does he open up and approve vast acres for coal extraction and offshore oil drilling? Isn’t climate changed caused by use of fossil fuels? So why not stop?
  19. renewfinancial-blog answered: 35% of carbon emissions and energy use in the US come from buildings. What will the administration do to encourage home owners to increase energy efficiency and adopt renewable energy? One great solution is PACE financing!
  20. puffinschool-blog answered: I live in Houston where climate change subject is TABOO. I have read IPCC, taken classes, have solar panels, drive electric car, submit action letters, follow smart people on twitter. But does any else but me care? Or is it just Houston.
  21. goterminal1-blog answered: If we accept the premise that humans are indeed having an impact on climate change, what can we do to discuss the issue about global climate population? If the global population is growing by 220,000 net daily, what can we do to educate this impact?
  22. debiluv222-blog answered: How long has weather been tracked?
  23. kb405world-blog answered: I would like to know as a parent and a community liasion for Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY(Hurricane Sandy affected) what should we teach children about how to deal with/protect themselves/communities about climate change? Red Hook needs answers now.
  24. rainygalaxybanana-blog answered: most of the greenhouse gases that cause anthropogenic global warming come from burning fossil fuels, How is it possible for the president to authorize drilling for more fossil fuels in the arctic?
  25. krbenet-blog answered: But in order to address this with the EPA, There going have to look at Monsantos pesticides for GMO’s and there product called “round up” and other chemicals that EPA let slip through (who paid them off). Of course you also have to blame IBM and Dupo
  26. chefopacia66-blog answered: After watching COWSPIRACY it shows that the cost to climate and the planet, is actually far greater than use of fossil fuel. So why is all government and media ignoring the real price of consuming animal protein?
  27. shadowymagazinefox-blog answered: JO Fletcher’s 2000 Lecture on Climate Changes is available here =

  29. ansarasg-blog answered: If it is now perfectly clear that most of the greenhouse gases that cause anthropogenic global warming come from burning fossil fuels, How is it possible for the president to authorize drilling for more fossil fuels in the arctic?s
  30. climatecampaigner-blog answered: Why is the Administration allowing drilling in the Artic. The science is clear on this one. We shouldn’t be doing it, period.
  31. maiorana-blog answered: What do you see as the role of direct action when it comes to addressing climate change (ie getting in the way of pipelines like Keystone XL or locking down to oil rigs)?
  32. hello-dave-carroll-love-blog answered: Want the Pres. to have an upward tick and a long-term impact? Take the role of educator (ideal for him) by having fireside chats with guys like Dr. James Hanson and Bill McKibben. Once a month until end of term. Climate Change #1 issue now and always
  33. rosekurtzer-blog answered: Will there be research support, either through local universities or institutions, that can help inform citizens on this fine of a scale? If so, where can these institutions seek financial grants to do so?
  34. technicallymyavenue-blog answered: If the ice caps continue to melt are we going to allow oil fleets and other hazardous material to enter a zone that otherwise has been untouched? I ask because if oil ended up spilling the albedo of oil and viscosity would destroy the north pole.
